Circuit & Chisel is building a protocol it hopes will do for AI agents what HTTP did for the web—and fintech giants are backing it.
Circuit & Chisel founders Louis Amira and David Noel-Romas are honest about how little AI agents have taken off—which is surprising considering they run a company that’s making AI agents. “Do you have any agents that you use today on a daily basis?” Amira asks.
“Sometimes we get answers like: ‘I guess ChatGPT is my agent,’ or ‘Maybe Claude is my agent,’ or ‘Siri is my agent,’” he says.
But Siri, or even more advanced systems like Claude and ChatGPT, aren’t really “agentic AI”— a term which is really reserved for artificial intelligence that can “independently accomplish tasks on behalf of users,” as OpenAI put it.
