INC.   —   Florida became the first state to sue OpenAI in June 2026, claiming ChatGPT poses a risk to children and that the company failed to adequately warn the public about those dangers. The 83-page lawsuit accuses OpenAI of negligence and unfair business practices, and Florida’s attorney general says the company and its CEO could face billions in damages.

There’s a bigger implication at play far beyond the LLM Platforms like Open AI, Google, Meta, and Microsoft. Florida’s lawsuit signals a fundamental shift that every leader deploying AI products needs to understand.
