The pace at which AI models are getting more capable has stopped following any normal technology curve. The independent research lab METR measures how long an AI agent can complete a task autonomously — call it the “autonomous work window.”
Their latest analysis shows that since 2024, that window has been doubling about every 90 days. We are about to double again.
