INC. — Ohta told AFP that the product was initially a gimmick, but found purpose in 2016 in preventing damage to agricultural products by other wildlife enemies like deer and boars. “We wanted to apply our manufacturing to do our part to deal with bears,” said Ohta.
The company plans to develop a hand-held version for hikers and schoolchildren, while also exploring artificial intelligence cameras for future models. The monster wolf aids in a much larger trend of robotic figures now being produced for guarding and protection services.
