INC. — New layoffs hit Meta as the company races to scale its AI infrastructure.

AI is continuing to impact the workforce, particularly in tech. Meta Platforms reportedly laid off more than one hundred employees across several departments on Wednesday, with additional cuts expected in the coming weeks due to new AI-assisting integration in the company.

The new layoffs align with Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s push for efficiency within his work and the company. In 2023, Zuckerberg slimmed down Meta cutting roughly 10,000 jobs, reducing the workforce to approximately 67,000 employees.
