OpenAI CEO apologizes for not flagging mass shooting suspect to police

WALL STREET JOURNAL — In a letter dated April 23, Altman said he was sorry OpenAI didn’t contact law enforcement about Van Rootselaar, whose ChatGPT account the company suspended last June.


“I want to express my deepest condolences to the entire community,” Altman wrote. “No one should ever have to endure a tragedy like this.”
