After throwing his hat into the AI arena in 2025, lending his platform and celebrity to an artificial intelligence brand, Texas actor Matthew McConaughey has filed a trademark on himself to combat technology he cozied up to.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Oscar-winning actor has trademarked his likeness to guard against technology already using it. Over the past few months, he has filed eight trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

According to reports, trademarks include sound bites and videos of the actor staring, grinning, speaking, and even saying his signature catchphrase, "Alright, alright, alright," on the approved applications. The trademarks are intended to prevent users or AI platforms from replicating the Texan actor's likeness or signature drawl without authorization.
