Texans say AI boom sounds like a 'washing machine' that never turns off

CHRON — In Brazoria County, residents living near a Giga Energy computing site around the Sloping Acres neighborhood say a constant industrial hum has disrupted daily life for months. Several neighbors have compared the sound to an enormous "washing machine" that never turns off.
One nearby resident recently wrote on social media that her family had "spent years to be where we are today," only for "an AI data center to come in and ruin our peace."
