Brockman says Musk’s lack of AI knowledge was concern at OpenAI

BLOOMBERG — In federal court Tuesday, Brockman described numerous tense conversations that he and OpenAI executives Sam Altman and Ilya Sutskever had with Musk about the future of the startup almost a decade ago. It’s Brockman’s second day of testimony at a high-profile trial in California that has major stakes for the ChatGPT maker.
He recalled meetings between the leaders in 2017 in which they were exploring how to create a for-profit company to fund the nonprofit’s research — and whether Musk should control a majority stake and serve as chief executive officer.
