Leaving Nvidia before the AI explosion sounds crazy—until you hear the CEO’s lesson that drove him out

In an essay for Business Insider, Pardeshi said the salary, learning opportunities, and benefits made Nvidia “a delight to work there.” But the lessons CEO Jensen Huang instilled in him ultimately became the reason he walked out the door: he wanted to be a founder, too.
When Pardeshi, an intern at the time, asked Huang how he could make a meaningful impact on Nvidia and the general tech space, the CEO recommended diving into a single topic.
“He suggested choosing one area of expertise and committing to it deeply, rather than spreading myself out across many interests,” Pardeshi recalled. “I took his guidance to heart and went deep into AI as it related to gaming.”
Pardeshi admits that leaving his role at Nvidia likely cost him “double-digit millions worth of unvested company stock.” Still, he made his dream of becoming a founder come true in 2023 when he built Blitzy, an AI company that has raised $4.4 million.
