Stellantis’ new robot does in 90 minutes what would take a human weeks

The Dexory robot — a sleek, gliding, AI-powered bot fitted with cameras, scanners and LiDAR sensors — has been put to work in four Stellantis facilities since late 2024, with plant managers and parts specialists saying it is dramatically boosting efficiency and making the plant run more smoothly.
Joe Maltagliati, who oversaw the implementation of the technology and is the innovation lead of internal logistics at Stellantis, said the automaker is the first of the Detroit Three to use such tech in its facilities.
At SHAP, located in the suburb north of Detroit, the robot sorts inventory while a team of approximately 7,000 workers puts together Ram 1500 crew and quad cab trucks around it.
