Zuckerberg joins the chorus of Big Tech pioneers who believe AI is the future of workplace efficiency, reducing the need for a large number of workers. “Projects that used to require big teams,” he said, “can now be accomplished by a single, very talented person.”
That talent, however, comes at a steep price. Even as it ponders widespread layoffs, Meta has reportedly been wooing elite AI researchers with employment packages that can add up to hundreds of millions of dollars.
